Blanchard Lots Ready for Grass

Hydroseeding in Blanchard keeps pace with a town that is growing fast. Blanchard is part of the Tri-City Area with Newcastle and Tuttle, a stretch of northern McClain and Grady counties that has been adding homes steadily. The city counted 8,879 people in 2020 and was estimated at 9,663 in 2023.

A townsite built for the railroad

Blanchard was laid out in three lot sales between 1906 and 1908 along a rail line that passed through several owners before the Santa Fe completed it. Within a year, the town had forty businesses, including two grain elevators and three livery barns. The old townsite is compact, and the newer growth spreads out across farm ground around it.

Lots of land, little water

Blanchard covers about 30.56 square miles, and only about 0.11 square miles of that is water. The city limits reach west into Grady County. With few ponds or streams to catch runoff, construction sites need their own sediment control. We set silt fence on the downhill edge of each lot and seed as soon as the final grade is in.

Matching seed to lot size

Newer homes here often sit on lots big enough that sod gets expensive quickly. Hydroseeding lets us cover the full yard at a lower cost and use a different mix on outer areas you do not plan to water much.

New public grounds

Blanchard built a new high school in 2011, a new football stadium and, more recently, a veterans park and memorial that opened by 2025. Sports turf and memorial grounds like these need even coverage, good drainage and fast establishment, which is commercial hydroseeding work we can quote.

Blanchard Questions

I am building on a large Blanchard lot. Is hydroseed or sod better?

For big yards, hydroseeding usually costs much less and fills in fully in one growing season.

Who installs silt fence on a new Blanchard home site?

We can. We set it along the low side and remove it once grass holds.

Can you seed sports fields or park grounds?

Yes. We do larger commercial and public seeding jobs.

Can I use less water on the far parts of my yard?

Yes, with a tougher, lower-water mix on outer areas and lawn grass near the house.
