Red Dirt, Hot Summers and Spring Storms
Hydroseeding Oklahoma City sprays new lawns, stabilizes bare slopes and sets sediment controls for homeowners, home builders and site contractors across the metro and the smaller towns ringing it. Before any seed goes down, we handle the ground work too: yard grading, topsoil and the small drainage trenches that keep water moving away from a house.
Central Oklahoma is a hard place to leave dirt bare. The city's climate swings between long droughts and rain heavy enough to cause flash floods, and the severe weather season runs from March through June. Temperatures reach 90 degrees on nearly 70 days a year. Exposed red soil dries into a crust in July and washes into the street in May. Our job is to get grass or a protective cover on that ground fast, and to keep the mud on the lot while it happens.
We plan every job around the grass that suits the site. Oklahoma State University Extension names Bermuda, buffalograss and zoysia as the warm-season grasses most often planted in the state, with tall fescue reserved mainly for shaded yards. Warm-season seed goes down from May into early summer; fescue goes down in late September and October. When a job lands outside those windows, we tell you so and offer a temporary cover or a mulch-only treatment instead of selling you seed that will struggle.
How we work
- We walk the site with you before quoting and look at slope, soil, shade, drainage and access for the truck
- Your estimate is written and lists each part of the job: prep, topsoil, seed blend, mulch rate and any silt fence or blankets
- On builder and commercial sites, we work from your stormwater plan and keep our part of the paperwork straight
- Sediment controls go in before grading on any lot that drains toward a street or creek
- We leave you written watering instructions for your grass type and the month it was sprayed
- If a storm washes out fresh seed, we look at the damage with you and explain the options for re-spraying
Call (405) 529-7119 or fill out the estimate request, and we will book a time to walk the ground with you.
